Went to Hong Kong & Macau in 16-21 August 2008. Another unforgetable experience...I met with Typhoon No.8 on the fourth day in Macau. I even didn't know why all the shops closed down on that day because we didn't watch television. My friend and I walked for more than 1km in the town only we found a coffee shop for breakfast. We asked the taukeh, "Today is Macau public holiday meh? Why all the shops close down?" The taukeh "Huh! You didn't see the news in tv? Typhoon signal 8 is hoisted, you better go back to your hotel. It's very dangerous staying outside!" We forced to entered the nearest casino and stayed inside for hours. Macau--you can see casino all around. Operated 24 hours. I love Fisherman's Wharf. It's so beautiful.
Love Hong Kong food (not Hong Kong foot, ok!) but it's so expensive! A bowl of porridge costs you RM8-RM10! White rice for one person costs RM3.50. And the entrance fee for the tourist attractions is very expensive too. Entrance fee for Ocean Park is around RM90 and entrance fee for Disneyland is around RM150. And you know, you have to spend one whole day there because it's always crowded and have long q all the time even you r already inside the park!
Accomodation in Hong Kong is also very expensive. A small room size 2.5mx3m costs you RM80 per night. It's much much more expensive if you stay in hotel. RM300-RM400 for standard room. I always choose budget one as long as I have a safety place to sleep at night. So for the whole trip in Macau&Hong Kong, I spent RM800+ (Flight, airport tax, accomodations, entrance fee, foods and souvenirs.) Here got some pictures in Hong Kong:
